Wallkill Town Justice Court: What You Need to Know If You've Been Charged
One of New York State's busiest justice courts — where I-84 and Route 17 intersect and enforcement never stops.
Despite the Middletown mailing address, this court is in the hamlet of Scotchtown — not the City of Middletown. Tickets issued inside Middletown city limits go to Middletown City Court instead.

About the Wallkill Town Justice Court
Wallkill Town Justice Court — at 99 Tower Drive, Building B, in the hamlet of Scotchtown — is one of the highest-volume justice courts in New York State. Two of the region's most heavily traveled highways converge in the town: Interstate 84 and New York State Route 17, both patrolled intensively by NYSP Troop F. The court runs four sessions per week, year-round, and handles a steady stream of DWI, drug, and traffic cases stemming from highway enforcement.
Don't Confuse Wallkill with Middletown
The court address reads 'Middletown' but the courthouse is not in the City of Middletown — it is in Scotchtown, a hamlet within the Town of Wallkill. Likewise, the Town of Wallkill surrounds the City of Middletown but does not include it. Read your summons carefully: the court name on the document tells you where to go.
Why local representation matters
Yvonne Garbett is a former Rockland County Assistant District Attorney with 25+ years of New York criminal practice. She regularly appears in Wallkill Town Justice Court and knows how this courtroom actually works — the calendar rhythm, the prosecutors, the judges' tendencies, and the practical steps that move a case forward. That familiarity is, in our experience, one of the most underrated advantages a defendant can have.
Parking & directions
From I-84 or Route 17, take the exit toward Middletown/Scotchtown, follow Route 211 East to Scotchtown Avenue, then take the first available left into the parking lot. Free parking in rear.
