Family Law in Rockland County

25+ Years ExperienceFormer ADAAvailable 24/7Se Habla EspañolAcross from Rockland County Courthouse

Family law matters are different from criminal cases in an important way: the people on the other side of these disputes are people you care about, or once did. The stakes are not just legal — they are deeply personal. Your relationship with your children, the home you built together, your financial security, your sense of family itself.

I handle family law matters in Rockland County with the same tenacity I bring to criminal defense — but also with an awareness that these situations require discretion, empathy, and a long view. Winning a legal argument is not the goal. Getting to a place where you and your family can move forward — with your rights protected and your children's wellbeing prioritized — is.

What Rockland County Family Court Handles

Rockland County Family Court is located at 1 South Main Street, Suite 300, New City, NY 10956 — in the same courthouse complex as Rockland County Court and the DA's Office. Family Court handles: custody and visitation, child support, orders of protection (family offenses), family offense proceedings, paternity, foster care and adoption, and juvenile delinquency. Matrimonial (divorce) matters are handled in Supreme Court.

My Approach to Family Law

I have appeared in Rockland County Family Court and Supreme Court (matrimonial part) for over 25 years. I know the judges, the law guardians (attorneys for children), and the procedures that shape how these cases move. That local familiarity shapes strategy and, ultimately, outcomes.

I also represent clients who face both criminal charges and family law matters simultaneously — for example, a domestic violence arrest that triggers both criminal charges and an order of protection in Family Court. Managing both sides of that situation coherently is something I am uniquely positioned to do.
