Warwick Village Justice Court: What You Need to Know If You've Been Charged

A separate court from Warwick Town — handling criminal and traffic matters within the historic Village of Warwick.

The Village of Warwick and the Town of Warwick are two separate courts. Read your paperwork carefully or call us — we will confirm in minutes which court has your matter.

  • Felony arraignments and preliminary hearings
  • Vehicle & Traffic violations occurring within Village limits
  • Parking violations issued within the Village
  • Domestic violence and orders of protection

What defendants should know about this court

  • Court meets only twice a month — once for traffic, once for criminal — both on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m.
  • Personal checks are not accepted; payment by cash, money order, or credit/debit card.
  • If your ticket was issued in the downtown / Main Street area, your case is here — not at Warwick Town Court.
  • Warwick Village is about 50 miles west-southwest of Rockland; an attorney appearance is often more practical for traffic matters.
  • Felony matters move to Orange County Court in Goshen after indictment.
  • The Orange County DA prosecutes criminal matters here.

About the Warwick Village Justice Court

The Village of Warwick Justice Court is an independent court from the Town of Warwick Justice Court — a distinction that confuses many defendants. If your summons or ticket was issued within the incorporated Village of Warwick, your case is heard at Village Hall, 77 Main Street. The court occupies the second floor of Village Hall in the heart of the historic downtown. Justice Jeanine Wadeson presides, holding monthly evening sessions for traffic and criminal matters.

Why local representation matters

Yvonne Garbett is a former Rockland County Assistant District Attorney with 25+ years of New York criminal practice. She regularly appears in Warwick Village Justice Court and knows how this courtroom actually works — the calendar rhythm, the prosecutors, the judges' tendencies, and the practical steps that move a case forward. That familiarity is, in our experience, one of the most underrated advantages a defendant can have.

Parking & directions

Village Hall is at 77 Main Street in downtown Warwick. From Rockland: NYS Thruway to Exit 15A (Suffern), then Route 17 W to Route 17A W into Warwick. Street parking and municipal lots nearby.
